We also make a significant commitment to academic excellence by attracting and retaining the brightest engineers to the company. Our unique partnerships with academia helps us to recruit and continually educate graduates that are strong in theory yet willing to engage in finding practical design solutions.
University of British Columbia
Dynamic Structures has become the industrial partner of choice, working with many Universities and Research Centers throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.
Worthy of particular note is that Dynamic Structures has been selected as the Canadian preferred partner for the design, manufacture and onsite construction of the colossal TMT (Thirty Meter Telescope) Project, scheduled to be built on the ‘Big Island’ in Hawaii. In total, fourteen Universities across Canada have come together to work on the TMT Project, with the design of the major enclosure and telescope structure coming under the leadership of Dynamic Structures.
Dynamic Structures recruit and mentor students from several Universities across Canada as we build cutting edge expertise in all disciplines of engineering and systems related to the movement of large or complex structures.
Fraunhofer IPA & ISW
Dynamic Structures Ltd also has access to key research partners that specialize in the development and engineering of ‘state of the art’ controls and mechatronics.
The Stuttgart based Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (Fraunhofer IPA) and also the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing (ISW) are actively involved in the development of IP and solutions with both Dynamic Structures & RoboCoaster, working with a particular focus on developments in the fields of advanced mechatronics, structural inspection systems, robotics & controls applied to amusements, and interactive technologies related to ride systems.
